Digital transformation- Rodrigues Post Office trained for MAUPASS rollout

During an official mission to Rodrigues, Dr the Hon. Avinash Ramtohul, Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, continued his series of high-level engagements following the presentation of the Digital Transformation Blueprint 2025–2029 – “A Bridge to the Future” to the Commissioners and Senior Officers of the Rodrigues Regional Assembly on 06 August 2025.

On 07 August 2025, the Minister held a productive working session with the officers of the Rodrigues Post Office to assess the current status of digital services offered by the postal network. The discussions also focused on identifying infrastructure needs and opportunities for improvement in support of government-led digital initiatives.

The visit also included a hands-on training session with Post Office officers on the onboarding process for MAUPASS in relation to the online Motor Vehicle Licence (MVL) service. The Minister emphasised the pivotal role of the Post Office in facilitating access to digital public services and ensuring that every citizen, regardless of geographic location, can benefit from e-government platforms.

The Minister also participated in a Business Forum on Internet Connectivity in Rodrigues, bringing together operators and key stakeholders to explore practical solutions to enhance internet access across the island.

Reiterating his Ministry’s unwavering commitment, Minister Ramtohul stated: “Rodrigues is an integral part of our digital future. We are determined to ensure that the people of Rodrigues are fully included in our national digital transformation journey. ”
