People, processes and information remain the fundamental pillars of any successful organisation said the Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, Dr Avinash Ramtohul at the opening of a two-day Strategic Review workshop of Mauritius Post Ltd (MPL) today in Eb\u00e8ne.<\/p>

The Chairperson of MPL, Mrs Lovena Sowkhee and the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Anil Seeruttun,\u00a0as well as relevant stakeholders and officials, were also present.<\/p>

In his speech, Dr Ramtohul praised MPL\u2019s 253-year legacy and the need to address the challenges currently bogging down MPL\u2019s operations and service delivery. The workshop as a critical milestone in the organisation\u2019s efforts to respond to evolving technological, operational and customer-service demands, while reinforcing its role as a modern, efficient and people-centred postal service provider, he said.<\/p>

Minister Ramtohul called for a shift in leadership mindset, placing people at the heart of change to deliver quality services. He invited all stakeholders to actively contribute ideas and proposals to support the transformation of Mauritius Post into a modern, customer-oriented institution. According to him, Digital transformation will be a key pillar of the new strategy, aligned with national digital transformation goals and the modernisation of public services.<\/p>

For her part, Mrs Sowkhee highlighted the rapidly changing operating environment, as well as the financial and operational pressures facing Mauritius Post Ltd. She underscored the importance of aligning the organisation with ongoing national reforms aimed at improving public sector efficiency, strengthening good governance and enhancing service delivery, in line with Government priorities under Vision 2030 and the Digital Government Transformation Programme.<\/p>

Time has come to reposition Mauritius Post through the definition of a clear, realistic and sustainable vision, one that balances public service obligations with commercial viability, innovation with inclusiveness, and tradition with transformation, she pointed out.<\/p>

Mr Seeruttun gave an overview of the evolution of Mauritius Post since its creation in 1772. Mauritius Post has a responsibility to reform, innovate and adapt, while continuing to fulfil its universal service obligations to be capable of delivering essential services while remaining economically viable, he added. \u00a0<\/p>

The workshop is an initiative of MPL in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, and marks an important step in redefining the organisation\u2019s strategic direction.<\/p>
